BELLINGHAM, WA. – An antisemitic display was found at Bellingham High School last week.

Bellingham Schools spokesperson Jacqueline Brawley says two decorative skeletons in the hallway had a swastika symbol placed on them and one was posed making the Nazi salute.

School administrators found out about the display the next day and removed it immediately.

The school spent several days investigating and deciding on how to discipline the students involved, though they are not able to share the specific details.

Principal Martin Atkins said in an email to parents and students that someone removed most of the offensive parts of the display before administration was informed.

He encouraged the school to move past the discomfort of reporting hate crimes and bias incidents so they can continue to make their school a safe and inclusive environment.
