BELLINGHAM, WA – Washington is one of seven states chosen by the Biden administration to host a new clean energy project.
The US Department of Energy selected the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association’s PNWH2 Hub Friday as the recipient of up to $1 billion in funding.
The hub will speed up the commercial-scale distribution of hydrogen to generate clean power and decarbonize the heavy industry and transportation sectors.
Amazon is among the 17 companies that already have projects proposed as part of the hub.
Gov. Jay Inslee says the hub will support thousands of new jobs in Washington while slashing emissions across the state.
The PNWH2 Hub will start detailed project planning in early 2024.
