BELLINGHAM, WA (KGMI.com) – Five Bellingham teens were injured in a rollover crash on I-5.

Washington State Patrol says that six people, including the driver, were in a pick-up truck that was travelling on I-5 northbound just before 1 a.m. Sunday.

The truck veered to the left and hit a cable barrier near Northwest Avenue, causing it to flip and block all lanes of I-5 north.

The driver, 18-year-old Kiya Winder, and three passengers were taken to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.

A 15-year-old girl in the vehicle was also injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center.

A sixth passenger was not hurt.

Troopers say none of the injured teens were wearing seatbelts.

I-5 northbound reopened just before 6 a.m.

The cause remains under investigation, but troopers say drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
