BELLINGHAM, WA – If you look up at the sky tonight, you may see the ice giant Uranus.
A few factors will make visibility better than usual.
According to King5 news, Uranus will be making its closest approach to Earth, making the planet appear brighter than usual.
In addition, tonight marks the new moon, which will allow for better celestial body visibility.
Uranus will be in opposition to the Sun so check just overhead shortly after midnight tonight.
It will look like a bright blinking star because of the roughly 1.8 billion miles between our planet and Uranus.
The planet’s blue-green hue should be visible and Uranus will be located between Jupiter and the Pleiades star cluster.
