MOUNT VERNON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is asking people to be on the lookout for a missing Skagit County teen.

Mount Vernon Police Lieutenant Dave Shackleton says 14-year-old Ella Jones voluntarily left her house at the 2200 block of North 20th Place the night of Jan. 5 or the morning of Jan. 6.

Her mother says she’s never gone missing before, and that it’s unusual that she hasn’t reached out to family or friends.

Investigators believe she could be in the Mount Vernon area or in another part of the state.

NCMEC adds that Jones is being featured on security company Ring’s Neighbors app, which helps the agency track down missing children.

She stands at 5’5″, weighs approximately 135 lbs., is Caucasian and has brown eyes and hair.

Jones is believed to be wearing a pair of plaid pajama pants, a black hooded sweatshirt and black Nike Air Force shoes at the time of her departure. She may have also taken additional clothing in a large green backpack.

Anyone with information on Jones’s location is asked to contact Skagit County Dispatch line at (360) 428-3211.

If Jones is spotted, Mount Vernon Police urges calling 911.
