The Seattle Seahawks have found their next defensive coordinator.
They hired former Dallas Cowboys defensive line coach Aden Durde today.
It makes him the first British-born defensive coordinator in NFL history.
Durde coached for the Cowboys for three seasons under former Seahawks DC Dan Quinn.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald says he’ll still be calling the plays on defense.
He added that he’ll hand that job off to the team’s defensive coordinator “when it becomes obvious that someone else is ready to go and we see it the same way.”
The hiring leaves Seattle’s offensive coordinator as the sole opening on the team’s major coaching staff positions.
