BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Several emergency cold weather shelters are back open this week in Whatcom County.

Whatcom County Health and Community Services announced their shelter on North State St. will be open on Tuesday through Thursday.

The Bellingham Emergency Shelter will have check-in from 5-9 p.m. both days, with a check-out time set at 8am the following morning.

Ferndale’s Severe Weather Shelter is open through Thursday night. Check-in is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. with a check-out time at 8 a.m. the next morning.

Road2Home and Base Camp shelters are also open daily from 7 p.m. until 8 a.m. the next morning.

The National Weather Service in Seattle says there will be strong winds across western Whatcom County Tuesday night. Forecasters add there could be a mix of rain and minor snow Wednesday through Thursday. Temperatures are expected to dip midweek, with a milder forecast predicted beyond Friday.
