MARYSVILLE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The family of the Washington State Patrol trooper who was killed early Saturday has released a statement thanking the public for an “outpouring of love and support.”
Trooper Christopher Gadd was killed when a driver crashed into his patrol vehicle as it was parked along I-5 near Marysville. He is survived by his wife, their two-year-old daughter and other family members.
The State Patrol says those wishing to offer support to Trooper Gadd’s family can find opportunities through the Washington State Patrol Memorial Foundation.
Media reports say the driver who caused the crash has admitted to drinking and smoking cannabis earlier that night. He hasn’t been formally charged but is being held on $1 million bail.
