NFL free agency kicked off with a bang yesterday.
The Seahawks opened the day by resigning defensive lineman Leonard Williams and tight end Noah Fant.
Williams, who the team traded for ahead of last season’s trade deadline, will return on a three year deal worth nearly $65 million.
Fant, who was part of the Russell Wilson trade in 2022, is coming back on a two year, $21 million contract.
The Seahawks still suffered a few losses throughout these first few days.
Drew Lock signed a one year, $5 million deal with the New York Giants after spending two years as Geno Smith’s backup in Seattle.
Linebacker Jordyn Brooks is joining the Miami Dolphins after being chosen with the Seahawks’ first round pick in 2020.
Offensive lineman Damien Lewis signed a deal with the Carolina Panthers after four years with the Seahawks.
Tight end Colby Parkinson is joining the Seahawks division rival Los Angeles Rams.
And tight end Will Dissly joined the Los Angeles Chargers days after being cut by the team.
The Seahawks also announced that they’re cutting special teams ace Nick Bellore.
The two-time Pro Bowler played linebacker and fullback in addition to his special teams duties.
Elsewhere in the NFL, former Washington State Cougar Gardner Minshew signed a two year, $25 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Raiders also announced they’re cutting ties with Jimmy Garoppolo, leaving second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell as Minshew’s only competition for the starting job in Vegas.
The Seattle Kraken are back in action tonight in a crucial matchup for playoff positioning.
They’re hosting the defending champion Vegas Golden Knights in the second of a five game homestand.
Vegas currently holds the last playoff spot in the Western Conference, with Seattle trailing them by eight points.
The Kraken will look to capitalize tonight on a struggling Knights team that has lost seven of their last nine games.

And the Seattle Mariners lost to the Oakland Athletics 4-2 in Cactus League play today.
