A new quarterback is coming to Seattle.
The Seahawks received third-year quarterback Sam Howell after trading this year’s third and fifth round picks to the Washington Commanders.
Seattle will also get a fourth and sixth round pick in this year’s draft in the deal.
Howell started all 17 games last season for the Commanders after being picked in the fifth round of the 2022 draft out of North Carolina.
He threw a league-high 21 interceptions while also being sacked a league-high 65 times.
Howell will join a quarterback room featuring Geno Smith after last year’s backup Drew Lock signed with the New York Giants in free agency.
He has two years and $2 million remaining on his rookie contract.
