FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Another victim has come forward in the case against a former Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputy accused of rape.

24-year-old Austin Case of Ferndale was arrested in July 2023 after being fired from the Sheriff’s Office during his probationary period. Case faces six felony charges stemming from two women who accused him of sexual assault between September 2022 and July 2023.

Court documents filed by the Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney on March 27 add three more felony charges against Case. He now faces second-degree rape, unlawful imprisonment and indecent liberties charges stemming from an alleged incident that took place in December 2020.

The Skagit and Island County Multiple Agency Team (SMART) is conducting an external investigation of the allegations at the request of the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.

Case posted the $250,000 bond days after being arrested in July 2023 and is not currently in custody at the Whatcom or Skagit County jails.
