ANACORTES, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The search continues for the man accused of killing an Anacortes woman last week.
Anacortes Police tell KIRO News that they’ve renewed their search for the suspect, 41-year-old Kevin Follstad, near the Deception Pass Bridge. Follstad’s car was found on the bridge April 9 – the same day that his wife, Caitlin, was found dead inside their Anacortes home.
Police also received a call from Kevin’s father, who reported that his son was “possibly suicidal” and headed towards Deception Pass. Other callers reported seeing a body in the waters near the bridge the day Caitlin’s body was discovered.
A spokesperson for the Anacortes Police Department said that officers had been called to the Follstad’s home a month ago for a mental health issue involving Kevin, but no actions were taken.
The Follstads’ three young children are now being cared for by family members.
