BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A suspected rapist has turned himself into police custody.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media on Thursday, June 13 that 26-year-old Brennan Haggstrom had warrants out for his arrest on rape, assault, and indecent liberties charges.

Court documents state that Haggstrom assaulted and raped a person he knew at a home near Cain Lake in February.

Haggstrom met with detectives on June 3, but declined to speak unless a lawyer was present.

Detectives later gave him a deadline of June 5 to turn himself in, but Haggstrom ignored the order.

Police logs state Haggstrom turned himself into custody just before 5 p.m. Thursday.
