The Mariners dropped their series against the Miami Marlins over the weekend.

Miami won the opener on Friday in a tight 10th-inning walk-off win.

Seattle bounced back to take Game Two on Saturday with a dominant 9-0 victory that included eight shutout innings from Logan Gilbert.

But the Marlins came out hot in Game Three yesterday and scored the first six runs of the game in their 6-4 win to clinch the series.

The M’s are looking to rebound today with Bryan Woo on the mound in their series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Jorge Polanco will also be making his return to second base after missing nearly a month with a right hamstring strain.

An NHL champion will be crowned tonight.

The Florida Panthers are hosting the Edmonton Oilers in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.

The Panthers are hoping to secure their first-ever championship after fumbling a 3-0 series lead.

The Oiler will look to complete the historic comeback behind reigning MVP Connor McDavid, who leads the playoffs in total points with 42.

Only one other team in NHL history has come back from a  3-0 deficit, when the Toronto Maple Leafs pulled off four straight wins against the Detroit Red Wings in the 1942 Stanley Cup Final.

The Sounders stayed hot over the weekend with a 3-2 comeback win over FC Dallas.

Seattle trailed 2-0 in the 78th minute, but tied the game with two goals in the next 10 minutes.

Jordan Morris capped off the rally with his second score of the game deep into stoppage time to give the Sounders the win.

Seattle is unbeaten in their last three matches and owns a 5-2-4 record in their last 11.

Meanwhile, the Seattle Reign played Racing Louisville FC to a 1-1 draw yesterday.

The Reign are still searching for their first win since May 3.

 

Christian Pulisic had a goal and an assist for the US in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Bolivia to kick off the 2024 Copa América campaign.

The US men’s team will face Panama on Thursday in Atlanta before ending group play against Uruguay on July 1 in Kansas City, Missouri.

 

In the WNBA yesterday, the Seattle Storm beat the Connecticut Sun 72-61.

Seattle scored just 8 points in the first quarter, but responded with a massive 26-point second quarter to spark the win.

Jewell Loyd scored 16 to lead all five of the Storm’s starters in double figures.

They’re back on Thursday to host Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

 

And the Bellingham Bells dropped their series to the Victoria HarbourCats over the weekend.

The HarbourCats took two out of three against the Bells, who had a six-game win streak snapped after sweeping their last two series.

Bellingham’s previously strong pitching struggled in Victoria, giving up 20 runs across the three games.

The Bells now sit a game behind Wenatchee and Edmonton for first-place in the North Division.

They have the day off today before traveling to Edmonton for a three-game series against the Riverhawks.
