BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Western Washington University Police are investigating a break-in at a construction site near campus.

The university said in an email to students and staff that the construction company working on the Birnam Woods apartments on Bill McDonald Parkway notified them of the break-in on the night of Tuesday, June 26.

The workers say numerous tools were stolen on Tuesday night from a shipping container that was being used as a temporary office and from the surrounding construction area.

When university police arrived, they were told that this was the third time it has happened this summer.

Police have not identified a suspect at this time, but their investigation into the break-ins is ongoing.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity in the construction area or anywhere else on campus is asked to call university police at 360-650-3555 or 9-1-1.
