The American League will look to take back their crown in tonight’s MLB All-Star Game.

The National League won 3-2 last year, ending a nine year stretch of dominance for the AL.

The Mariners have two All-Stars but only one will make an appearance tonight.

Closer Andres Munoz was named a late All-Star on Friday because Logan Gilbert was scheduled to start a game on Sunday that was too close to tonight’s Midsummer Classic.

Coverage for the game begins at 4:00 and first pitch is at 5 on KPUG.

Former Mariner Teoscar Herndandez took home last night’s Home Run Derby Crown.

It came in thrilling fashion, with Hernandez edging out Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. by a single home run in the final round.

Hernandez entered the Derby with the third-lowest odds to win the $1 million prize.

He now becomes the first Los Angeles Dodger to ever win the event.

He’s also starting in center field for tonight’s All Star Game.

All-Star Week is also kicking off here in Bellingham.

The Bells are hosting the Community Champions game tonight, where West Coast League All-Stars will play alongside athletes from the Max Higbee Center.

50% of ticket proceeds will be donated to the local, non-profit organization, which supports teens and adults with developmental disabilities.

Admission is free if you bring proof of your ticket for tomorrow’s All-Star Game.

First pitch is at 6:35 from Joe Martin Field.

Three more former Bells were drafted in Day 2 of the MLB Draft yesterday.

2021 alum Nick McLain was taken in the third round by the White Sox.

His teammate on the Bells, Thatcher Hurd, was taken by the Yankees in the third round as well.

And 2022 alum Elijah Hainline got picked in the seventh round by the Dodgers.

They join Malcolm Moore, who was chosen 30th overall by the Rangers in the first round on Sunday.

A major piece of a Seahawks’ division rival is asking out.

ESPN reports that San Francisco 49ers star receiver Brandon Aiyuk has officially requested a trade.

But there seems to be a disconnect between him and the team.

Sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter today that other teams that have asked about Aiyuk have been told the 49ers have no intention of trading him.

Aiyuk has one year left on his rookie contract and is seeking a big-money extension along the lines of other receivers this offseason.

He’s coming off a career year where he caught 75 catches for 1,300 yards and seven TD’s on his way to earning a second-team All-Pro nod.
