SEHEKIN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – All residents in Stehekin need to “get out now.”
Chelan County Emergency Management upgraded the evacuation order for the north end of Lake Chelan to Level 3 at 8 a.m. on Sunday, July 28.
The order applies to the area from just north of Moore Point through the Stehekin Valley, including the Stehekin landing and west to High Bridge.

The Pioneer Fire is still burning around 33,000 acres. It is moving north along the lake and poses an immediate threat to the life and safety of people in the area.
Bus shuttle service to ferries is running out of the Stehekin Ranch, the airfield, the Buckner Orchard and the Stehekin bakery. Meanwhile, the American Red Cross is setting up a shelter for evacuees at the Chelan community gym at 317 E. Johnson St.
