BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man was arrested after threatening a stranger in Bellingham with a sword.

Bellingham Police spokesperson Megan Peters says that a man flagged down an officer on Northwest Avenue on the night of Wednesday, July 31 following the incident.

The man said that he was riding his bike through a parking lot when he was approached by the sword-wielding suspect. He said the suspect, a 36-year-old man, kept trying to fight him and was holding the sword in a threatening manner.

Officers quickly located and arrested the suspect, who was still carrying the sword.
