BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Bellingham man is in custody after detectives caught him with child pornography.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deb Slater says deputies were called to a report of a possible sex crime in north Bellingham on July 29.
The person who reported it told them that the suspect, identified as a 24-year-old man, had been fired from his job for watching explicit videos of children on his work laptop.
The suspect’s employer audited his laptop history and found that the videos he was watching had been saved on his computer.
Sheriff’s Office detectives later attained a search warrant that proved he had viewed and downloaded the material on several of his personal devices. That developed probable cause to charge him with five counts of child pornography.
He was arrested the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 6 and remains at the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
