BLAINE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A juvenile was caught after leading police on a high-speed chase with a stolen car through Blaine.
Blaine Police say a sergeant was on routine patrol on the night of Aug. 13 when he saw a Cadillac Escalade that had previously been reported stolen. Once the driver noticed the sergeant, they drove south on Peace Portal Drive and then southbound on I-5, reaching up to 120 mph.
The pursuit ended up back in Blaine, where two juvenile males left the still-rolling Escalade on 8th Street before it crashed into a parked car and mailbox.
The driver was caught a short time later and was booked into juvenile detention.
Blaine Police had help from the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, US Border Patrol and a K-9 team from the Bellingham Police Department.
Police say no one was hurt in the chase.
