MARBLEMOUNT, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Drivers planning to travel across the state next week are advised to plan for detours.

The Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced that both lanes of the North Cascades Highway will be closed in Marblemount starting at 6 a.m. on Sept. 9.

Crews will be continuing work on a fish passage project over Olson Creek during that time. Signed detours will be in place, drivers should plan on additional travel time if they are heading out on SR 20.

WSDOT says the highway is scheduled to fully reopen at 6 a.m. on Sept. 13.
