The Seahawks had their undefeated season spoiled last night against the Lions.

Seattle fell to Detroit 42-29 last night in a game where they were severely undermanned on defense.

The Hawks came into the matchup missing five starters on their front-line who were out with injuries and matters worsened when Pro Bowl safety Julian Love left the game with a thigh injury.

Lions quarterback Jared Goff took advantage, setting an NFL record by completing all 18 of his passes.

Detroit scored a touchdown in each quarter of the game and, despite Geno Smith setting career highs in passing yards and completions, Seattle just couldn’t keep up.

The Seahawks now fall to 3-1 on the season in Mike Macdonald’s first loss as head coach.

They still have a one-game lead over the 49ers for first place in the NFC West.

Seattle is back home next Sunday to face the 1-3 New York Giants.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks made an addition to fortify their banged-up offensive line.

Seattle signed 9x Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jason Peters to its practice squad today.

The 42-year-old Peters appeared in eight games with the Seahawks last season, starting in two.

They’re currently down to their third-string tackle after George Fant was placed on injured reserve and usual starter Abraham Lucas remains on the physically unable to perform list.

Fant has to miss at least two more games and Lucas isn’t expected to be back until midseason at the earliest.

The Pac-12 just got a big boost in its bid to return as an official conference.

The conference announced today that it’s adding Gonzaga as a member in all sports the school plays starting in July 2026.

The Zags will bring a powerhouse basketball program that’s reached the Sweet 16 nine straight times.

However, since Gonzaga doesn’t have a football team, the Pac-12 still needs one more full-time member to reach the required eight schools to officially become a conference.

The Kraken are nearing their official return to the ice rink.

Seattle opens its season at home next Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues.

However, the Kraken still need to play out their preseason schedule.

They’ve gone 1-3-1 in preseason play so far ahead of tomorrow’s final matchup against the Oilers at Climate Pledge Arena.

Coverage begins at 6:30 and puck drops at 7 on KPUG.
