BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The City of Bellingham added a new lane to a portion of Holly Street on Monday, Oct. 7.

The new lane between Commercial and Bay Streets will allow drivers to turn right onto Bay. The bike lane on that block now comes back outside of the parking area to give space for the new lane.

It’s the latest adjustment the city has made to the Holly Street bike lane project, which began in May and removed one lane of traffic down the street. One section of Holly Street is being tested with buffer-protected bike lanes and the other section has parking-protected lanes.

The project is still in its pilot period before the city reevaluates it in the coming months. You can offer feedback to the city or ask questions here.
