The Seahawks’ downward spiral continued yesterday in miserable fashion.

Seattle fell to the Buffalo Bills 31-10 for their fourth loss in five games.

The Hawks found themselves within five yards of the end zone twice in the first quarter, but a high snap and a trip by Geno Smith on a critical fourth and goal left them with just three points.

Their run game also struggled, taking 17 carries for just 32 yards in the loss.

Geno Smith finished the game with 212 passing yards and a pick without number one receiver DK Metcalf.

Buffalo seized the opportunity to pile on and scored a touchdown in each quarter for their third straight win.

Seattle now sits in a three-way tie for first place in the NFC West after wins by Arizona and San Francisco brought all three teams to 4-4 on the season.

The Los Angeles Rams sit just half a game behind at 3-4 in a tightly-packed division race.

The Seahawks will look to regain ground this Sunday when they welcome the Rams to Lumen Field.

 

The Washington Huskies fell short in their upset bid over Indiana on Saturday.

UW lost to the 13th ranked Hoosiers 31-17 to fall to 4-4 on the season.

Will Rogers threw for 202 yards and a pair of interceptions in the road loss.

The Huskies are back at home this Saturday for a  match against USC.

 

Across the country, the Cougs won a thriller that put them back in the rankings.

Washington State trailed by 12 points with less than 13 minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

But sophomore quarterback John Mateer threw a 34 yard touchdown pass to Carlos Hernandez, then ran in his second touchdown of the game with five minutes remaining to give the Cougs the comeback win.

It helped get Wazzu back into the rankings, as they now sit at 22nd in the country after the latest AP poll,.

The 7-1 “Cardiac Cougs” are on a bye this week ahead of their next game at home against Utah State.

 

The Sounders are gearing up for the start of the MLS Playoffs.

Fourth-seeded Seattle is hosting the fifth-seeded Houston Dynamo tonight in Game One of their best-of-three series.

The Sounders ended the regular season on a seven game unbeaten streak.

The Kraken fell to the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1 last night for their third straight loss.

Jared McCann scored his fifth goal of the season in the third period, but that was all the offense Seattle could muster as they fell to 4-4-1.

They’re back tomorrow against the Montreal Candadians for the first of a five-game road trip.
