WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Preliminary election results are in for some statewide races in Washington.
Attorney General Bob Ferguson is leading Dave Reichert in the Governor race, holding over 56% of the vote.
For Lt. Governor, incumbent Denny Heck is holding the lead over Dan Matthews at 56.6%.
Secretary of State Steve Hobbs has nearly 60% of the vote to keep his office from challenger Dale Whitaker.
For State Treasurer, Mike Pellicciotti has an over 15% lead on Sharon Hanek. Meanwhile Republican challenger Matt Hawkins is failing to unseat Democrat incumbent Pat McCarthy in the race for State Auditor—holding just 41.3% of the vote.
In the Attorney General race, Democrat Nick Brown is leading over 56% to nearly 44% for Republican Pete Serrano.
It is neck and neck in the race for Position 2 on our state Supreme Court between Sal Mungia and Dave Larson—Larson leads by only .05%.
Democrat Dave Upthegrove is ahead of Republican Jaime Herrera Beutler in the race for Public Lands Commissioner. Upthegrove is at approximately 53%, while Beutler sits at nearly 47.8%.
Incumbent Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal is about eight points ahead of David Olson in the race for the position.
In the race for Insurance Commissioner, Patty Kuderer is ahead of Phil Fortunato by about 14 points.
