BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Washington residents are gearing up for a busy week of Thanksgiving travel.
The Port of Seattle expects 1.5 million people to pass through Sea-Tac from now until Saturday, Nov. 30.
It comes as the airport’s Checkpoint 5 is temporarily closed and some online systems are still down following a cyberattack earlier this year. Sea-Tac is recommending people arrive at least two hours before their boarding time for a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight.
Meanwhile, WSDOT is expecting nearly 300,000 passengers on state ferries through Sunday, Dec. 1.
The busiest sailings for vehicles coming onto an island will likely be Wednesday and Thursday, and for vehicles leaving an island, Friday and Saturday will be the busiest. WSDOT is advising travelers to check Washington State Ferries’ website for sailing schedules, live terminal conditions and rider alerts.
