The Seahawks rebounded from a nightmare first quarter to win their third straight game yesterday.
Seattle edged the New York Jets 26-21 thanks to a late-game touchdown run by Zach Charbonnet to give them their first lead of the game.
The Jets finished the 1st quarter with a 14-0 lead after the Seahawks lost two fumbles on kickoffs.
But the tides turned in the second quarter when defensive lineman Leonard Williams turned on the burners for a 92-yard pick-six, the longest interception return for a touchdown for a d-lineman in NFL history.
It highlighted a career day for Williams, who also had two sacks and a blocked kick.
The Seahawks now own a one-game lead over the Cardinals and Rams for first place in the NFC West.
They’ll look to extend the lead against Arizona next week.
The Jets, meanwhile, are in freefall after losing the eight of their last nine games.

He and the 49ers’ top backup Jordan Mason are both headed to the IR and McCaffrey will miss at least six weeks.

The Falcons’ starting quarterback Kirk Cousins is coming off arguably the worst game of his career after throwing four interceptions in yesterday’s loss to the Chargers.
The 36-year-old Cousins hasn’t scored a touchdown in each of Atlanta’s last three games, which were all losses.
Both the Huskies and the Cougs ended their regular seasons with a loss.
Washington fell to #1 nationally ranked Oregon 49-21 on Saturday.
Freshman QB Demond Williams Jr. completed 17 of 20 passes, throwing for 201 yards and a touchdown in his first start for the Huskies.
UW finishes their first regular season in the Big Ten with a 6-6 record, 4-5 against conference opponents.
Meanwhile, Washington State lost to Wyoming 15-14 after the Cowboys scored the game-winning touchdown with just 24 seconds left.
The Cougs went scoreless in the second half on the way to dropping their third straight game, this time against a Wyoming team that held a 2-9 record entering the match.
It was followed by today’s announcement by Wazzu that they’ve fired their defensive coordinator Jeff Schmedding, who coached a defense that ranked 90th in the country.
Washington State ends their regular season with an 8-4 record.
Both the Huskies and Cougs are bowl game-eligible and will find out their opponents this Sunday.
The Sounders came up just short of making the MLS Cup final over the weekend.
Seattle lost to the LA Galaxy 1-0 on Saturday in the Western Conference final.
