BLAINE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man accused of murdering his brother in Louisiana was arrested in Blaine on Thanksgiving Day.
The Blaine Police Department says officers were dispatched to the Peace Arch Port of Entry at around 5 p.m. last Thursday, Nov. 28.
They were told that U.S. Customs officers had detained the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Michael Johnson, when he crossed the border from Canada.
Blaine Police say Johnson had a homicide warrant from East Baton Rouge, LA that had been issued four weeks prior. Johnson is accused of stabbing his brother multiple times in the torso during an argument.
He remains at the Whatcom County Jail ahead of a court hearing on Dec. 26 to discuss extradition.
