WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A rainy weekend in the forecast could cause minor flooding in Whatcom and Skagit Counties.
The National Weather Service has issued a hydrologic outlook warning for Whatcom, Skagit and Snohomish counties. It says heavy rainfall in the mountains this weekend could cause minor flooding on rivers draining from the North Cascades.
The Nooksack River is currently forecasted well below the flood stage this weekend at all of its main points in Whatcom County.
Meanwhile, the Skagit River near Mount Vernon is forecast to hit the action level on Sunday but is not currently expected to hit the flood level.
