RENTON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Boeing is laying off nearly 400 more workers in Washington state.
According to a filing with the Washington State Employment Security Department on Monday, the company plans to cut 396 workers by late February. This most recent round of layoffs adds to the nearly 2,300 workers that it started cutting in mid-November.
Boeing announced in October that it would cut 10% of its workforce to align with its “financial reality.”
It comes as the company is wrapping up a rocky year that has included a mid-flight door plug blowout, a machinists strike and a potential lawsuit over two plane crashes
Boeing reported a more than a $6 billion loss for its third quarter, the largest since 2020 when the pandemic slowed most aircraft demand.
