A coach who many consider the greatest in football history is going back to college.

ESPN reports that 6x Super Bowl winner Bill Belichick is finalizing a deal to become the new head coach at North Carolina.

Belichick had worked in the NFL since 1975 before his departure from the New England Patriots after the 2023 season.

His father, Steve, served as an assistant coach for the Tar Heels in the 1950s.

Belichick joins a UNC program that hasn’t won an ACC football title in over 40 years.

His son, Steve, is currently the defensive coordinator of the Washington Huskies.

Huskies coach Jedd Fisch says the team could be in the market for a new DC if the father and son reunite in North Carolina.

David Bonderman, a lawyer and investor who pushed to bring professional hockey to Seattle, has passed away.

The Seattle Kraken and Bonderman’s family announced his death at the age of 82 earlier today.

Born in Los Angeles, Bonderman attended the University of Washington and Harvard Law School.

He went on to purchase a minority stake in the Boston Celtics and was a member of the group holding a majority interest in the Seattle Kraken.

Forbes magazine estimated his wealth at $6.5 billion in March 2023.

His survivors include five children and three grandchildren.

The news came after the Kraken fell in a 2-1 shootout to the Florida Panthers last night.

Seattle played the defending NHL champs to a 1-1 tie after three periods, but the Panthers scored a pair of goals in shootouts to win their third straight match.

Chandler Stephenson scored the Kraken’s sole goal of the game, coming off an assist from Jared McCann, which was his 100th in a Kraken uniform.

Next up for the Kraken, they’re hosting the Boston Bruins tomorrow night in the second of a four game homestand.
