BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – After a bit of a sunny spell in Whatcom County, true winter weather is in the forecast.
The National Weather Service in Seattle (NWS) is forecasting light snow for the lowlands starting on Saturday, Feb. 1.
Rain showers are expected earlier in the day but will turn to snow as temperatures drop.
The snow is forecasted to stick around through at least Monday, paired with windy conditions throughout western Whatcom County.
NWS adds that the strongest possibility of at least an inch of snow could occur between Sunday and Monday.
In the mountains, heavier snow showers are forecast for Saturday and Sunday.
