WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A burn ban for a portion of Whatcom County has been lifted.

The Northwest Clean Air Agency (NWCAA) has lifted the Stage 2 air quality burn ban for the Columbia Valley urban growth area, which was instituted on Jan. 22.

Incoming precipitation and windy conditions will be crucial in getting harmful smoke particles out of the region.

The NWCAA is still urging area residents to limit their burning so that another ban doesn’t go into effect.
