WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – It’s looking like we’ll be in for a snow-filled weekend in Whatcom County.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting between 4″ and 6″ of snow throughout the county from Saturday into Sunday night.

NWS also issued a winter storm warning for the west slopes of the North Cascades that’s in effect through 4 p.m. on Saturday. Elevations above 3,000 ft. could get between 10″ and 30″ of snow, with wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

Deming and the Mount Baker Ski Area are included in the advisory.

The Northwest Avalanche Center is also warning of dangerous avalanche conditions throughout the weekend.
