WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A series of storms are expected to bring heavy rain and gusty winds to Whatcom County this weekend.
The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a hydrologic outlook for western Washington from Sunday afternoon through the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Forecasters say the first storm will hit the region on Friday and continue through the weekend. The heavy rain and snow melt from warmer temperatures will increase the threat of river flooding, but the Nooksack and Skagit rivers are not currently forecast to hit even the action stage.
Meanwhile, wind gusts from the storms could reach up to 40 mph in Bellingham on Saturday.
Whatcom County is expected to receive up to two inches of rain throughout the weekend.
