BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Spokane man who provided a lethal amount of fentanyl to a Bellingham woman has been sentenced.

Court documents state that 39-year-old Blake Davis will spend the next 3.5 years in prison on a drug delivery charge.

In March 2022, Davis purchased and delivered a small amount of fentanyl to 32-year-old Haley Rostron. She was found unresponsive by her husband and died a day later at PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.

The Whatcom County Medical Examiner determined that she had a fatal amount of fentanyl in her system.

Davis was arrested in February 2024 and pled guilty to the drug delivery charge on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

As part of a plea deal, a second charge of homicide by narcotics was dropped.

Prosecutors argued that a lighter sentence and substance abuse treatment was the most appropriate way to implement justice in this case.
