EVERSON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Nooksack River Bridge in Everson will have a traffic pattern switch starting this week.

The Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) says that traffic on the SR 544 bridge will be reduced to a single lane beginning at 8 p.m. on March 10.

The closures will last from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. every weeknight through the end of March.

Work crews are researching soil composition under the roadway to prepare for a future culvert repair project.

That project, scheduled to begin in 2026, will also include rebuilding a trail that was washed out by floods that occurred in November 2021.
