WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Whatcom County’s population continued to grow at a steady pace in 2024.
That’s according to new data released by the U.S. Census Bureau.
The county’s population grew by just over 2,200 people from July 1, 2023, to July 1, 2024. It now sits at 234,954 residents after the nearly 1% increase.
2024 saw a slightly larger rise than in 2023, though both were well under the 1.75% surge Whatcom County saw from 2021 to 2022.
Meanwhile, King County grew by nearly 2%, which is its fastest increase since 2016.
The sparsely populated Okanogan County saw the largest population growth in Washington with just over a 2% increase.
