Breaking news out of the NFL: The Seattle Seahawks have signed Cooper Kupp. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Hawks signed Kupp to a 3-year, $45 million contract today.
Kupp was released by the rival Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday after 8 seasons with the team, where he won the receiving triple crown and a Super Bowl MVP. He’ll look to replenish a wide receiver room that lost mainstays DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett over the past week.
Kupp will also add a veteran target for Sam Darnold, who was just introduced as their new QB1 yesterday.
The Seahawks may be making progress in the effort to improve their offensive line. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the team is scheduled to meet with free agent guard Teven Jenkins in Seattle on Monday.
Jenkins started 14 games at left guard for the Chicago Bears last season. The 27-year-old is ranked as the third-best interior offensive lineman in free agency by NFL.com. Jenkins would fill a need for the Hawks after last year’s starting left guard Laken Tomlinson signed with the Houston Texans earlier this week.
Seattle has made their offensive line a priority after allowing the third-most sacks in the league last season.

A rock icon from Seattle is helping to raise the stakes for the Mariners this season.
The team announced today that they’re partnering with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Eddie Vedder and the San Diego Padres to designate their season series as the Vedder Cup.
Vedder famously moved from San Diego to Seattle in the early 1990s to become the lead singer for Pearl Jam.
Now, the winner of the season series between the M’s and Padres will take home the Vedder Cup trophy, which was designed by Vedder himself. The award is part of a charity drive benefiting the Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Partnership, co-founded by Vedder and his wife.
The Mariners will host the Padres from May 16-18 and travel down to face them on August 25-27.
Meanwhile, we’ll be airing the M’s split-squad spring training game against the Cleveland Guardians today starting at 4:55 pm on KPUG.
