MOUNT BAKER, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Ski season may be nearing its end, but the snow dumps aren’t stopping yet.

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a winter storm warning for the Cascades of Whatcom and Skagit counties from 5:00 p.m. on March 20 through 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22.

Heavy snow accumulations of 12 to 20″ are expected to build up during that time, with wind gusts potentially reaching up to 40 mph.

Forecasters are warning travelers to be careful on the roads, especially bridges and overpasses, since they’ll be slick and dangerous.
