MOUNT VERNON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspected hit-and-run driver.

WSP Trooper Kelsey Harding says that a tow truck, a semi and a state trooper were all on the right shoulder of I-5 NB near the Skagit River Bridge at around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 24.

The tow truck driver was walking towards the trooper’s vehicle when he was hit by a car heading north. He was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect’s car, described as a 2000’s gold Toyota Avalon, was last seen exiting I-5 at George Hopper Road.
