LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – There’s a new way to save on admission at this year’s Northwest Washington Fair.

School employees with valid ID can enjoy a free day at the fairgrounds on Thursday, Aug. 7 as part of the inaugural Community Education Day. That includes anyone who works at a Whatcom County public, private or tribal school.

Plus, the incentive for free admission on Aug. 7 extends beyond those who work in education.

Anyone who donates a new backpack or four school supply items will be allowed into the fairgrounds for free on Aug. 7. All donations will be distributed by Blue Skies for Children to students across Whatcom County.

For those unable to make it on Aug. 7, Food Drive Friday will be held the very next day.

Four food items will score you free admission, with all donations distributed by Brown & Brown Insurance through the Whatcom County Food Bank Network.
