SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Parts of Skagit County will be under a burn ban later next month.
The modified burn ban will take effect on June 15 for all parts of unincorporated Skagit County.
Skagit County spokesperson Jenn Rogers says the modified burn ban allows some fires if they are limited in size to 3′ in diameter, 2′ high and within enclosures.
Enclosures made of steel, stones or cement must be at least 14″ in height and the burning materials much be kept below the enclosure top. Water must be on hand at all times during a burn at either a residence or at land-clearing fires.
More restrictions such as placement away from structures and combustible materials should also be followed during the ban.
The ban will be in effect until further notice.
