WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man is in custody following a drug-related death on the Lummi Nation.

A spokesperson for Lummi Police told My Bellingham Now that their officers responded to a medical emergency on Smokehouse Road early Sunday.

The victim, who has only been identified as a member of the Lummi Nation, was pronounced dead later that morning.

Police arrested 36-year-old Richard Solomon on suspected homicide and drug possession charges. He also had active warrants out from Bellingham Police for DUI and theft at the time of his arrest.

Lummi Police add that an investigation into the victim’s death is ongoing.
