BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Homeowners in Whatcom County are continuing to upgrade to high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, spurred by a range of rebates and incentives aimed at reducing energy costs and environmental impact.
Local HVAC contractor Feller Heating & Air Conditioning reports a surge in interest for energy-efficient systems.
“Homeowners are seeking more efficient heating solutions,” said Phillip Dye. “Installing a heat pump system not only provides efficient heating but also offers high-efficiency air conditioning, since heat pumps handle both.”
Feller Heating assists customers in navigating various rebate programs. For instance, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) offers rebates up to $1,500 for installing ductless or conventional heat pump systems. Manufactured homes may qualify for rebates up to $2,400. Additionally, Cascade Natural Gas provides rebates ranging from $800 to $1,500 for high-efficiency natural gas furnaces and boilers.
Beyond utility rebates, the Washington State Department of Commerce’s Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) Program offers incentives to low and moderate-income households for installing high-efficiency electric equipment, including heat pumps and heat pump water heaters. Eligible households can receive rebates covering a significant portion of project costs.
As energy prices rise and environmental concerns grow, these rebate programs offer homeowners in Whatcom County valuable opportunities to upgrade their HVAC systems, reduce utility bills and contribute to a more sustainable future.
