BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Mount Baker Theatre (MBT) has announced its lineup for the upcoming season.
The MBT’s Main Stage Season features 25 events that kick off on Sept. 20 with Grammy-winning trumpeter Chris Botti.
The theater’s Executive Director John Purdie says this season is drawing close to a major milestone.
“We’re getting ready to celebrate our 100th birthday,” Purdie told KGMI’s Dianna Hawryluk on the morning news. “This is the 99th season and we’re already planning the 100th season, so there’s some stuff we’re looking to do to get the building ready for that.”
The 2025-26 season includes several special programs such as the Broadway Series with the “Tina Turner Musical” and the Movie Palace Series with a “Ghostbusters” double feature.
It also has events featuring NPR’s Ira Glass, comedian and magician Michael Carbonaro and an international comedy competition.
Tickets go on sale for theater members on July 23 and for the general public on July 30.
But if you can’t secure tickets to a show you were excited for right away, Purdie says all hope is not lost.
“If you see a show that’s sold out, you can keep checking back in because members have the ability to exchange their tickets for any show, so tickets will go back on sale sometimes,” Purdie said. “And then sometimes we’ll also take a waiting list. So if there’s a show you really want, just give them your name and number, and then they’ll call you up and say ‘listen, you’ve got like four hours to make a decision because we’ve got to move on to the next person.’
