WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – An Oak Harbor man is in custody following an investigation into drug trafficking within Whatcom County.
The Whatcom Regional Drug Task Force says that the suspect, 57-year-old Andres Venegas Hernandez, was taken into custody at his home on Wednesday, July 16.
Investigators believe that Hernandez has been instrumental in distributing various narcotics throughout Whatcom County.
A search warrant of his Oak Harbor home uncovered a brick of cocaine, packaged heroin and about 5,000 pills suspected to contain fentanyl.
Hernandez faces several counts of drug delivery charges, but investigators believed that the majority of his proceeds were collected through local re-distributors.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office adds that more people will likely be arrested in connection to this operation.
