BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Two Bellingham businesses have announced they’ll be closing their doors this summer.

Sugar and Co., located on 11th Street in Fairhaven, said that their last day of service will be next Friday, July 25.

Co-owner Brie Mueller said in a video on social media that despite their best efforts, they were tasked with making the difficult decision to close their business.

The cabaret-inspired American bistro had just opened its doors in November 2024.

Further north, Ponderosa Beer and Books owner Jessie Polin announced that her tap room will be shutting down at the end of August. The all-ages space has been in business on Roeder Avenue for the past three years.

Though an exact closure date hasn’t been announced, Polin says that she’ll be throwing a party to celebrate and thank the Ponderosa community.
