Mariners News
The Mariners are looking to even up their series in Game 2 against the red-hot Brewers tonight. Milwaukee beat Seattle 6-0 in the series opener last night to win their 11th straight game and secure the best record in the MLB.
George Kirby took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but the Brewers busted him up for four runs before scoring two more in the eighth. The Mariners’ bats were held silent by starter Brandon Woodruff, who threw six scoreless innings in the start. The M’s managed just five hits and a single walk.
25-year-old pitching prospect Brandyn Garcia gave up one earned run off four hits and a walk in one inning out of the bullpen in his major league debut. MLB Pipeline ranks him as the No. 13 prospect in the Mariners’ farm system.
The M’s will look to avoid their third straight loss tonight with Logan Gilbert taking the mound against rookie All-Star sensation Jacob Misiorowski. Coverage begins at 5:30 and first pitch is at 6:40 on KPUG.
Meanwhile, a highly-coveted target at the trade deadline could be returning to Seattle. The Seattle Times reports the Mariners and Diamondbacks have engaged in talks to reunite the M’s with former third baseman Eugenio Suarez. The 34-year-old is in the midst of a career resurgence in Arizona, trailing only Cal Raleigh with 36 home runs this season.
The M’s traded “Geno” to the D-Backs after the 2023 season in a cost-cutting move. Now, he’s one of the most talked-about names ahead of the July 31st trade deadline, with the New York Yankees also reported to be making a push for him.
Whoever does trade for Suarez will have to expect a short-term rental, as he’ll hit free agency after this season.
Bells News
The Bells are on the road tonight for the start of their series against the Port Angeles Lefties.
Bellingham, which has already clinched a playoff spot, owns the third-best record in the North Division in the second-half of the season at 9-6. They overcame a rough second-half start to win six of their last seven games. The Lefties, meanwhile, sit at the bottom of the North with nine losses in their last 11 games.
All-Star Preston Watkins will be making the start for the Bells tonight. First pitch is at 6:35 from Port Angeles.
Storm News
The Storm are back tonight following their brief All-Star break. They’re hosting presumptive Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings in their return to Climate Pledge.
Seattle owns the fourth-best record in the WNBA at 14-9, while Dallas ranks second-worst at 6-17. The Storms’ Nneka Ogwumike, Skylar Diggins and Gabby Williams will look to maintain momentum from their high-scoring All-Star Game on Saturday.
Tonight’s game tips off at 7:00.

A trio of former Seahawks are reuniting in Sin City. The Las Vegas Raiders signed three-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams today, pairing him with head coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Geno Smith.
Adams played four seasons with Carroll and Smith when they were in Seattle from 2020-2023. He was named an All-Pro with the Jets before being traded to the Seahawks in 2020, where he played in just 34 games due to injury and was released three years later.
