WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The first weekend of August is here and that means it is time for festivals, festivals and more festivals across Whatcom County. Ferndale, Bigfoot and Psych Rock all feature prominently in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

The time has come for the Ferndale Block Party at FrinGe Brewing. This free, two-day event features live music, art, a car show, vendors, food trucks and craft beer and cider.

The Naughty Blokes and Cosmic Sauce will entertain the crowd from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1. Then on Saturday, Aug. 2, bands like Written in Sand, Redwood Sol and Vibacious will rock the block from noon to 9 p.m.

There will be plenty of fun for kids on Saturday too, with games, fun activities and giveaways running all day long. Attendees can also bid on kids’ artwork from the Ferndale School District’s Adaptive Art Program.

If you are heading east for a hike or some time on the Nooksack River this weekend, you are in luck.

The 2025 Bigfoot Festival runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Maple Falls on Saturday. There will be over 60 vendors on hand, fundraising opportunities, live music, root beer floats and a beer garden.

It’s a celebration of all things Bigfoot plus a whole lot more.
